Welcome to my blog’s new home on my shiny new website!
I started the year with the best of intentions, updating my old blog fairly regularly. However, things have been pretty busy lately - some good, such as holidays and some bad, like poorly cats and trying to decorate our lounge, dining room and guest cloakroom all at the same time! So, as a result I’ve not had as much time for jewellery making and my Etsy shop, blog and FB page have all been a little neglected.
So, here’s a very quick photo round up of some jewellery I’ve made in the last few months…
Clockwise from top left;
Turquoise Tips ~ Ceramic beads by Scorched Earth, English cut glass beads, Greek ceramic washers, Vintaj Arte Metal earwires
Shades of Summer ~ Lampwork glass discs by Earthshine Beads, lampwork rondelles by Yvonne Johnson, Czech glass, Greek metal charms, Vintaj brass earwires
Summer Blooms ~ Czech glass table-cut flower beads, Vintaj brass charm & toggle clasp
Rustic Love ~ Ceramic charms by Happy Fish Things, Czech glass, Vintaj brass earwires
Clockwise from top left;
Turning Leaves ~ Czech glass leaves & flowers in autumnal shades, Vintaj brass earwires
Forest Bird ~ Ceramic bird by Blueberribeads, lampwork beads by Yvonne Johnson, Czech & Indonesian glass, Vintaj brass filigree ring & chain
Aqua Spikes ~ Ceramic spikes by Happy Fish Things, Czech glass table-cut flower beads, Vintaj brass earwires
Landscape ~ Ceramic landscape pendant by Grubbi, Czech glass, wire wrapped natural soapstone beads, Vintaj brass leaf toggle
All of these pieces are available in my Etsy shop!
In other news, I have made the decision to run down my Folksy shop. For those who don’t know, Folksy is a UK based handmade website, very similar to Etsy but much smaller. This is where it all started for Gill's Handmade Jewels, and where I sold my very first piece of jewellery (a stretchy purple glass bead bracelet with silver flower charms, if I remember correctly!). To be honest I’m pretty gutted about this decision, but for some reason the sales just aren’t there anymore and the website is starting to feel a little dated.
I have a few exciting things in the works, including lauching a webstore right here on my website. Simply click on the store tab, and it will take you straight there! I’ll be adding more items over the next few weeks.
‘til next time…
Gill x
